Can You Clear Coat Over Vinyl On Wood

May 20 2011 question i have a request from a customer to put a vinyl decal on an oak table top and clear it over.

Can you clear coat over vinyl on wood.

Has anyone else. I m thinking i should be able to spray clear coat over the vinyl to make sure it does not separate off of it s wooden surface. Just want to put a coat or 2 of. In order to properly apply a clear coat to wood you want to work in an environment with as little dust as possible.
